Manage data
The data that qualitative research works with is diverse and ranges from observation protocols, interview recordings and transcripts to audio and video recordings, field notes, research diaries and social media data. In addition, there are a wide variety of documentation and accompanying materials, such as memos or postscripts. These "data" - understood here in a broad sense - are all materials used by researchers for their empirical work. They are a central resource for scientific research and knowledge acquisition.
"Research data management" refers to the considered and responsible handling of research data. This includes the fulfillment of ethical standards, legal requirements and requirements for good scientific practice. Research data management is based on a cyclical model of data creation, processing and analysis - the research data life cycle. This is divided into different phases in which certain aspects of research data management are central.
QualidataNet supports the implementation of research data management throughout the entire research data life cycle. For each phase, you will find information and recommendations from the day-to-day practice of research data centers. Under the heading ‚Tools & Training‘ you will find tried-and-tested tools, guidelines, templates and links for the RDM of qualitative research data.
